The Government of Georgia is implementing the Georgia Resilient Agriculture, Irrigation, and Land (GRAIL) Project. The Project Development Objective (PDO) is to improve irrigation and land management institutional capacity for climate resilient planning. The Project will support institutional strengthening of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture (MEPA), including its sub-agencies. The project aims to improve the coverage and quality of irrigation and drainage services and agricultural production in selected irrigation command areas.
To address this challenge the GRAIL project aims to establish the Hydrological and Agricultural Informatics Center (HAIC). HAIC will help MEPA build the foundation needed for filling this information gap through the application of new tools for integrated monitoring of water, agriculture, and agricultural land resources to inform the decision-making processes in water resources management for climate resilient planning.
DEPA Consulting, together with the Consortium lead organization HR Wallingford provides the consulting services for Needs Assessment, Development of a Roadmap, and Support the establishing of the HAIC system.
