Final Evaluation of the project “Empowered Civil Society for Good Governance Programme”

The aim of the project “Empowered Civil Society for Good Governance Programme” was to facilitate development of CSOs as a driving force behind the inclusive governance processes and enhance their expertise to reinforce social accountability and engage with public authorities over the long term in participatory decision-making. The project expected impact included:

• Empowered local CSOs able to influence policies and effectively advocate for the rights of their target groups;
• More inclusive, responsive and effective policies meeting the needs of their communities;
• Local Authorities (LAs) become more credible, legitimate, and effective through increased social accountability and participatory decision-making;
• Sustainability of local civil society sector enhances through cross-sector partnerships, including the private sector.

The main purpose of the final evaluation was to measure the relevance, effectiveness/impact and sustainability of the project. The purpose of this evaluation is to yield learning from the project in order to inform the design and implementation of such projects in the future. The evaluation is aimed at measuring the evaluation objectives as well as the progress made towards reaching the project targets.
