The project “Promoting Green Skills for Sustainability (PROGRESS)” and aims to contribute to the increase in competitiveness and sustainability of the local private sector in Georgia through the development of skills to facilitate greening of businesses in the sector of food services. The project was designed in response to a number of inter-related challenges at the national level such as the climate change, inadequate development of systems to support the transition of households and businesses towards reduction of environmental pollution and increased resource-efficiency. The following target groups are set to enhance the performances through the project: 5 state-owned VET institutions, 275 Food Service MSMEs, Restaurateurs Association of Georgia, NPO “Food, Beverages and Hospitality,” Skills Agency Georgia, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development (MoESD), 5 regional and 3 national media outlets.
The objective of this baseline evaluation was to provide an overview of the current state of various stakeholders and their perspectives on factors relevant to the project’s implementation. Additionally, it aimed to serve as a reference point for assessing changes and impacts following the project's completion, while also supporting the planning process and establishing target values.
Methods used: Desk research, key informant interviews and focus group discussions.
