The project focuses on driving economic development in 10-15 municipalities across four diverse regions: Samegrelo, Guria, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, and Kvemo Kartli. The primary goal is to empower local actors-including government entities, businesses, civil society, and academia-to collaborate in enhancing the economic attractiveness of their regions, ultimately leading to improved incomes and quality of life for local populations.
The tea sector value chain analysis in Guria will contribute to regional economic development by engaging local stakeholders in identifying competitive advantages, improving productivity, and enhancing market system development.
The objective of this assignment is to conduct a comprehensive value chain analysis (VCA) of the tea sector in Guria region, focusing on all three municipalities in the region;
- Assess the current state of the tea value chain in terms of primary production, processing and marketing;
- Identify key constraints, opportunities, and gaps within the value chain that may impact economic outcomes for local communities;
- Provide recommendations for strengthening the value chain, improving productivity, and enhancing market linkages.
