The assignment entailed conducting a comprehensive pre-feasibility assessment for a proposed development project in Kutaisi and its surrounding areas. It aimed to generate evidence-based insights to support informed investment, and development decisions.
The assignment included economic market analysis, assessment of investment attractiveness and risks, evaluation of projected economic and social impacts, and a preliminary assessment of capital and operational expenditures. It also encompassed the design and implementation of a population study in Kutaisi and nearby areas to assess residents’ needs, socio-demographic characteristics, consumer behaviour, use of leisure and entertainment spaces, and perceptions of the city’s overall development.
To achieve these objectives, a mixed-methods approach was used, including desk review, interviews with relevant stakeholders, and representative face-to-face survey with over 400 Kutaisi residents.
